It is very true that children are the innocent and non-judgmental version of our human selves.  I feel bad that you went into the classroom already on the defense and had planned to stay in the back.  Something other parents need to realize is that parents of any form that love the child unconditionally is a blessing.  There are so many children out there that don't have a support system or family that can give them the care that you did.
